Production Process
The production process for this eco-friendly jacket is quite simple. Workers collect used coffee grounds from several cafes they visit on their way to the factory or office.
The used coffee grounds are then dried, degreased, and ground again to make smaller particles. Then the ground coffee grounds are mixed with melted plastic bottles to be processed into yarn. Each hoodie jacket is made from three cups of coffee grounds and 10 plastic bottles.
This eco-friendly hoodie jacket is still a prototype project. Coalatree as the manufacturer is currently raising funds so that the jacket can be mass-produced. Because if it has entered mass production, it is not impossible that plastic accumulation can be reduced significantly and the environment will be saved.
